How do I make a smoothie?
We like to say there’s no wrong way, but a great way to start is with about ½ a cup of hot water (I heat my water first in the microwave or use a coffee machine with no pod). Pour the cubes and hot water into a shaker jar, wide mouthed water bottle, or even an old spaghetti sauce jar, and shake for about 60 seconds! Next time, you can add more or less water depending on how thick you want your smoothie.
Can I add anything to my smoothies?
Absolutely! We’ve tried it with protein powder, a scoop of greek yogurt, or using green tea instead of hot water for an energy boost! If you come up with something you think is just awesome, share it with us on social media.
Are Bright Greens Organic or non-GMO certified?
Not yet but we expect to have both certifications soon. We’re still a young business, but we’re committed to offering organic options as soon as possible. In the meantime are bringing you delicious, healthy fruits and vegetables with no added sugar or preservatives. We will also pursue kosher and halal certification in the near future.
Are you dairy/gluten/allergen- free?
Absolutely! Bright Greens is all about simple fruits and vegetables, blended in a way that fits into your life. Our smoothies range from 5-7 ingredients, and we don’t use any Big-8 allergen ingredients.
What about additives and preservatives?
Bright Greens is made from fruits and vegetables—nothing else. It is naturally pure produce in every smoothie.
How much sugar does a Bright Greens smoothie contain?
There is no sugar added to each Bright Greens smoothie pack. Each product varies in the combination of natural sugars contained in the fruits and vegetables in each flavor.
Are these really as good for me as a fresh smoothie?
We think they’re better. When you buy produce at the store, it was often picked before its peak so that it would survive the days or weeks-long journey to get to your store. By the time you get it home, it has often been in transit for 7-10 days. Our fruits and vegetables are picked at the peak of ripeness and frozen right away, many times right in the field or orchard, maintaining as much of the best flavor and nutrients they have to offer.
Are these as good as my fresh-pressed /premium juice?
Let’s take a look at the important differences between Bright Greens and Juice. One, when you juice fruits, you lose some of the nutrients and all of the fiber, while concentrating the sugars. Our smoothies are blended, meaning that everything that’s good about a blueberry or a leaf of kale is in there. We keep all the nutrients and all the fiber. We also flash freeze to lock in those nutrients (and flavor) until you’re ready. You never have to worry about having to throw away an old juice anymore.
'The nutritional quality is just as good-and sometimes even better, because the produce is often picked and frozen at its peak of quality' - Michael Pollan, Author of Omnivore's Dilemma
I didn’t drink all my Bright Greens smoothie, and left it out overnight. Can I still drink it this morning?
While there’s nothing in a Bright Greens that can hurt you, we recommend enjoying it as soon as you shake it up. Because we’re blenders, not juicers, there’s lots of awesome plant fiber in every smoothie. If you leave it out, it will separate and won’t taste its best – if you’re worried about not finishing a smoothie, just shake up a portion and keep the rest in the freezer until you’re ready for some more!
Can I use these for a “cleanse?”
First, it’s important to check with your doctor before you start any major diet or exercise regimens. Second, we think of our smoothies as a way to brighten your lifestyle. A cleanse is a week of torture that doesn’t usually result in a long term lifestyle improvement. Our smoothies are an easy way to get a lot more fruits and veggies into your diet, without the stress of only drinking green juice for a week. Try adding it to your regular diet and see how much better you feel after a week or two. We all need to get more fruits and veggies!
Can I just eat the cubes?
Yep! In the summertime, that’s Brian’s favorite snack as he heads into the office!
I want to buy a bulk pack for my family. Can I order direct?
Unfortunately, we aren’t making a bulk package at this time. It’s on our list of things to do! Keep connected with Bright Greens through social media and our website to see the next new products as they become available at retail stores.
I love the idea, and I want to invest. How do I do that?
Awesome, we love to hear from people who believe in the product as much as we do. Let me refer you to Sean Wainwright, our COO, as he’ll be better able to give you information about the company’s needs and any opportunities to get involved. His email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Can I also have your name and a number to call you back? Thanks!
Where do you make your product?
In a state of the art facility just outside Detroit where we blend our fruits and veggies and flash freeze the smoothies so they’re ready for our customers to shake up.
Are these kid-friendly?
Absolutely. We love the idea of introducing kids to a diet rich in fruits and veggies as early as possible, plus they love shaking up a smoothie!
Where do you get your fruits and vegetables?
Our produce comes from all over the country, on farms where it’s grown seasonally, picked at the peak of ripeness, and flash frozen (IQF frozen) to maintain taste, color, and nutrients.
I run an orchard/farm. Can I be a supplier for Bright Greens?
Thanks for reaching out! Let me refer you to our COO, Sean Wainwright. He’ll be able to answer your questions about becoming a supplier. His email is email@example.com.
Do you have coupons for Bright Greens?
Go to our website to sign up for our newsletter – we don’t share your email, we don’t spam, and we send out coupons and specials when they’re available.
My smoothie is clumping in my jar. What do I do?
Our smoothies are designed to break up with just some hot water and a good shake, so we’d suggest trying it with slightly hotter water. If that doesn’t work, you may need to add a bit more water to make sure it all shakes up. The best advice we can give is just keep shaking!
